Flow control App

The Flow Control App allows you to create a redirection within a call route. It essentially functions as an alternative call route that you can easily enable and disable. This route can include one or more actions (such as quickly activating voicemail or call forwarding), and multiple flow control options can be created. Each flow control option receives a unique code that can be entered on all IP devices to activate or deactivate the redirection. You will hear a confirmation tone indicating whether the redirection is enabled or disabled. If the redirection has been set up in the phone system, there is no need to log into the panel to toggle it on or off.

When the Flow Control App is dragged into the Dial Plan, you will be prompted to configure the following settings:

  • Choose a quick-dial code: Enter a preferred code to activate the flow control. This code consists of the internal number of the Dial Plan (e.g., the last four digits of the phone number), followed by an asterisk [*] and a custom sequence number. In the example above, the sequence number is 1.

  • The flow control can then be (de)activated by dialing (in this example) 3242*1. A confirmation tone will indicate whether the flow control is enabled or disabled.

  • Label: Assign a name to the flow control, which will be displayed in the name of the app within the call route.

  • Status of this flow control: Use the switch to enable or disable the flow control in advance.

Tip: If you are using a Yealink device, you can assign the Dial Plan Flow Control as a button on your device. This allows you to see the flow control status at a glance.
