Announcement app

With our Announcement App, formerly known as the Sound App, it is now easier than ever to record a new announcement. From any device (landline, Qaller, or WebCalls), it is possible to record a new announcement. A short number can be assigned to each Announcement Text App in the dial plan.

By dialing the short number, the user will hear a menu with the following actions:

• Listen to the current announcement;

• Record a new announcement;

• Delete an announcement.

Setting up the new Announcement App

The Announcement App is available in all Company dial plans. The new Announcement Text App can be configured as follows:

• Add an Announcement App to the dial plan;

• Select an announcement;

• Enable the option ‘Allow this announcement to be recorded dynamically’;

• Set a short number for the Announcement App; and

• Save the changes.

When the option ‘Allow this announcement to be recorded dynamically’ is enabled, it is mandatory to set a short dial number. The short dial number must be unique within the dial plan where the Announcement Text App is used.

Recording a new announcement

By dialing the short number, the user will hear a menu where the following actions can be performed:

• Listen to the current announcement;

• Record a new announcement;

• Delete an announcement.

If a dynamically recorded announcement is active, it will also be visible in the dial plan. Within the dial plan, it is then possible to listen to, download, or delete the recorded announcement text.

The Announcement App is only available in the Company dial plan. If a dial plan is copied, the announcement texts will not be copied.
