Intro

By default, Microsoft Teams does not let users dial Kwebbl shortcodes, such as the Dialplan Flow Control code [dialplan_number]*[flowcontrol_number] (for example 400*1 to enable flow control 1). With one extra normalization rule in the Teams dial plan, these shortcodes are passed on to Kwebbl untouched. This guide shows how to add that rule.

Open the Global dial plan

  1. Go to the Microsoft Teams admin center (admin.teams.microsoft.com).

  2. In the left menu, click Voice.

  3. Click Dial plans.

  4. Click Global (Org-wide default).

Add the normalization rule

  1. Under Normalization rules, click Add.

  2. In the Name field, enter a clear name, for example Kwebbl Flow Control.

  3. Under Rule creation mode, select Advanced.

  4. In the If condition section, enter this expression in the field The number dialed matches this regular expression: ^(\d{2,5}\*\d+|[1-9])$

  5. In the Then do this section, enter this in the field Translate the number based on this regular expression: $1

  6. Click Save in the side panel.

Move the rule above the Call2Teams / L2T rules

  1. In the list of normalization rules, select the new rule Kwebbl Shortcodes.

  2. Click Move up until the rule is above all Call2Teams and L2T rules.

Save the dial plan

  1. Click Save at the bottom of the Edit policy details page.
